Manage your account and data

Last updated August 16, 2026

Your OakPaystubs account holds the details you reuse between pay stubs, along with your purchase history. This article covers what's stored, how to change it, and how to remove it when you no longer need it.

What your account stores

  • Your sign-in details — the email address on the account and your password.
  • Your address book — saved employers and employees, so recurring details don't need retyping.
  • Your order history — past purchases and the pay stubs you've downloaded.

Pay stub contents are stored so you can re-download a purchased stub later without paying again.

Updating your details

Sign in and open your account settings to change your email address or password. Changing your password asks for the current one first; see Reset your password if you've forgotten it and can't sign in at all.

If you change the email on your account, future receipts go to the new address. Receipts already sent stay in the old inbox, so keep them if you may need the order numbers later.

Managing your address book

The address book is where saved employers and employees live. From there you can:

  • Edit a saved record when a business address or pay rate changes.
  • Remove records you no longer use.
  • Keep several employers side by side, which is what makes the tool workable for bookkeepers and multi-entity owners.

Editing a saved employer changes what's used on future stubs. Pay stubs you've already downloaded are finished documents and aren't retroactively altered — which is what you want, since a stub is a record of a specific pay period.

Keeping the account secure

  • Use a unique password you don't reuse on other sites.
  • Don't share a login; give colleagues their own accounts instead.
  • Sign out on shared or public computers.
  • Reset your password immediately if you think someone else has it.

Deleting your account

If you want your account and its data removed, contact support from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it.

Download any pay stubs you still need before asking for deletion. Once the account is removed, the order history goes with it and past stubs can no longer be re-downloaded.

Common questions

How do I change the email address on my account?

Sign in, open your account settings, and update it there. Future receipts will go to the new address; ones already sent stay in your old inbox.

Does editing a saved employer change stubs I've already downloaded?

No. Edits apply to future pay stubs only. A downloaded stub is a finished record of a specific pay period and isn't altered retroactively.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email support from the address on your account and ask for deletion. Download any stubs you still need first, because the order history is removed with the account.

Can two people share one account?

We don't recommend it. Give each person their own account so sign-in details aren't shared and each person's activity stays separate.

Are my saved employer and employee details private?

They're stored to your account so you can reuse them, and they're only used to generate the stubs you create. See Reset your password for keeping access to the account itself secure.
