Subscription plans: subscribe, switch, or cancel
Last updated October 18, 2026
A subscription plan includes a set number of pay stubs in each billing period. If you produce stubs on a steady schedule — the same team, every payday — a plan covers them without you thinking about payment each time.
Plans are entirely optional. Paying per stub at checkout works exactly as it always has, and nothing renews or bills you unless you choose it.
1. Compare the plans
Sign in and go to Account → Subscription. Each plan card shows its price, its billing period, and how many pay stubs it includes per period. If you already have a plan, it's marked Current and the others become options to switch to.
2. Subscribe
Choose Subscribe on the plan you want. A secure Razorpay payment window opens for the first period's price — your card details go to Razorpay directly and never reach OakPaystubs.
The plan starts only after the payment is confirmed. If you close the window, nothing is charged and nothing changes. Once it goes through, the page shows your plan, the dates of the current period, and the date you joined. The purchase is also listed in your order history with a receipt PDF.
3. Use your included pay stubs
There's nothing to apply. At checkout, any pay stubs your plan still has left for the current period are taken off the order automatically and shown as Covered by your plan. If your cart holds more stubs than the plan has left, the rest are paid for with credits or by card as usual.
Included stubs belong to the billing period. Ones you don't use don't carry over to the next period.
4. Renew when the period ends
Plans are not charged automatically. Your subscription page says so under Renewal. When the current period ends, choose the plan again to start a new period and a new allowance. There's no recurring charge set up on your card, so a plan can't bill you for a period you didn't ask for.
5. Switch or cancel
- Switch plans with the Switch to… button on another plan. Like subscribing, it's a purchase: your current plan stays active until the new one is paid for, so closing the payment window leaves you exactly where you were.
- Cancel with Cancel subscription on the subscription page. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, so any pay stubs it still includes can be used until then. You can subscribe again at any time.
Tip: Because plans don't renew on their own, cancelling is mainly a way to say you're done. If you simply don't choose the plan again, nothing more is charged.
Common questions
Will I be charged again automatically?
No. Only the period you pay for is charged. To continue, choose the plan again when the period ends.
Do unused pay stubs roll over?
No. Each period's allowance is for that period. Credits you buy separately are different — they stay in your balance until you use them.
Can I have a plan and credits at the same time?
Yes. At checkout your plan's remaining pay stubs are used first, then any credits you apply, then a card payment for whatever is left.
What happens to my pay stubs if I cancel?
Nothing. Every pay stub you've paid for — through a plan, credits, or a card — stays in your dashboard and can be downloaded again at no cost.
I paid, but my plan still shows as inactive
Plans start once our server confirms the payment, which usually takes a moment. Refresh the subscription page. If your order history shows the purchase as Paid and the plan still isn't active, contact support with the order number.
